About

Confused by all of the information out there on elliptical machines? I know I was when I was planning to buy an elliptical for my home. I am a consumer who spent months researching elliptical trainers and talking to personal trainers in various stores and at my old gym. I loved the Precor ellipticals at my local gym but started having trouble sticking to the gym travel routine in the winter. I was convinced if I could just bring my favorite piece of exercise equipment into my living room, that I would finally be successful at sticking to a healthy cardio routine.

I certainly made the right decision but researching to purchase my own elliptical was time consuming. All of the information seemed to be conflicting or incomplete. My goal with this site is to collect all of the information I learned into one place. If you are shopping for a home elliptical machine, I have been in your shoes before and know how confusing it is–there are so many different features, the price ranges are enormous, and it’s so difficult to know if your making the right choice. When I was researching to purchase my own elliptical, it seemed like all of the Web resources I found each mentioned something a little different. I kept feeling so close to making a decision and then I would learn of another brand or read about some other feature that would through me for a loop. I spent months reading reviews and comparing elliptical features and prices, and putting together my own comparisons.

I am not a fitness expert but I have been in your shoes. I love elliptical exercise machines and I wanted to create this site to fill in the gaps you may find when doing your own research. I have no testing methodology and I am only making recommendations based on the extensive research that I have completed. I will try to offer the most objective elliptical reviews outlining fair pros and cons for each machine. I will only recommend machines I would spend my own money on and I scrutinized each an every machine at one time. I have actually tested out almost all the machines I have written about here and will make it clear when I have not.

For your reference and to help you make the best judgment about my elliptical reviews, I am 5’6 ¾” tall female and I prefer elliptical machines with a stride length between 18 and 20 inches. I only really notice a difference in the stride length when I move in reverse, as the longer stride length can be a little awkward. My elliptical buying guide summarizes all of the features I found most important when evaluating elliptical machines and those features that personal trainers I talked to found to be most important. Each band of ellipticals is constructed differently and I wish you the best of luck trying to find the machine that fits you best.
