Of the Nautilus elliptical machines reviewed on this site, I feel that the NE 2000 is the best buy, giving you the most features for the money. There is nothing wrong with the other machines, but you can do without the upgraded features.
Overview of all Nautilus Home Ellipticals
The NE 2000 is strictly a consumer grade elliptical. The NE series will give you a great value for your dollar, allowing you to get a commercial quality machine for a much less than Precor or Life Fitness. If you only require a 16″ stride length and want a commercial grade machine, definitely take a look at the NE 2000 and the NE 3000. However, the stride length is going to be too short for most people who are taller than 5’6″ and those who complain about the NE series having too short a stride length did not buy the right machine for their height.
The later two Pro Series ellipticals, the EV716 and EV718, are one of the kind luxury home elliptical trainers that adjust in stride length from 0″ to 32″ with some other pretty neat features. If you have a budget for one of these high end machines and you like the idea of being able to vary your shorter walking strides with longer running strides all on one machine, these ellipticals are great and priced for the home. Precor has a similar trainer that is only offered in their commercial line of products.
If you require a few more inches in your stride and want a high quality home elliptical, you should also look into the Nautilus E916 ellipticals with a fixed 18″ stride length. Now buying this new will be just as expensive as a Precor, Life Fitness, or, StarTrac costing you over $5000 but there are some great deals for used commercial ellipticals. In case you are considering purchasing this used commercial grade elliptical, we have included it in this review.
The Nautilus family includes Schwinn Fitness (selling great consumer best buy elliptical machines), StairMaster, and Bowflex. Nautilus is a pure fitness company that provides quality and innovative cardio and strength training products. And with their great warranties, you know you are getting a solid elliptical machine.
Of all the Nautilus home elliptical machines, I think the NE 2000 is you best buy for the money and if you have the money to spend and want a newer elliptical design, go for the EV716.
