Schwinn Fitness is a member of the Nautilus family of companies and has been manufacturing quality bicycles since before the 1900’s and added a line of home fitness exercise bikes during the 1960’s. The Schwinn elliptical trainers were then introduced in 2004 as the trend for low-impact elliptical exercise began to grow.
Schwinn Elliptical Models
The Schwinn elliptical reviews include 4 models, but only 3 of them are still being produced. The Schwinn 418 was one the first models released and is still considered a best buy and a great value today by Consumer Reports. The Consumer Guide website rated the 428p a best buy but this model has since been replaced by the Schwinn 438 elliptical. And the newest model, the 430, was released in 2006 as there lower end, slightly more compact, economy elliptical. Overview of All Schwinn Ellipticals
Schwinn ellipticals are affordable machines that give you a great value for your money. All of their ellipticals have an 18” stride and a front drive design with articulating foot pedals for comfort. These machines are not top of the line ellipticals but offer you a comfortable workout with lots of features, usually for less than $1,000.
People who have purchased these elliptical machines usually speak very highly of them on consumer review sites. I do have one complaint about these ellipticals and its that the warranty coverage for all of their machines have been reduced. Many of their models used to carry a 30 year warranty on the frame for example, and now they will only cover up to 15 years. Now for the cheaper models, like the 418 and the 430, these warranties are pretty good compared to competing ICON fitness products. All in all, these machines are a good value of the money.
